3rd Storey HDB Flat At Tiong Poh Road Rented Out As Airbnb To Tourists; Is HDB Obliged To Take Action?

A resident living in 32 Tiong Poh Road HDB complained claiming that for the past five days tourists have been living in a 3rd storey HDB flat. The complainant suspected the HDB had been illegally sublet as an AirBNB for tourists.

The residents asked for help on how to make a complaint against the flat owner for flouting HDB rules. AirBNB has been banned from operating in Singapore’s public housing market.

Enforcement action by HDB against these illegal HDB flats have rarely been reported.
