Foreign Worker in Isolation Thanks Singapore for Providing Food & Salary during COVID-19

A foreign worker staying in the S11 dormitory at Punggol has revealed what it is like to be isolated after his lodging became a COVID-19 cluster. The place has 62 positive cases.

The foreign worker, pseudonym Bala, stays on a different floor as those who were tested positive but was still worried that he would be infected. Nevertheless, he was relieved to be placed under isolation and is thankful that the Singapore government is providing them with support and necessities.

Bala is not allowed to go anywhere for a month. Although there is nothing much for him to do in the dormitory, he is more than happy to limit interactions and be protected from the virus.

During this period, he will be provided with three meals a day, masks, sanitizers, and even gets his basic salary. Here’s what he ate yesterday:

  • Bread, brown rice for breakfast
  • Chicken fried rice for lunch
  • Chicken with brown rice for dinner

Bala is grateful to Singapore for giving him a job and providing for him in times of need. He and his fellow workers would like to express their appreciation for what has been done to keep them safe.

He assured everyone that all is well and there is no need to worry. He also hopes that Singaporeans will take care of themselves so that we can all tide through this difficult period.
