A man who was unable to withdraw his money at the ATM as his card was stuck, thrashed the machine in a drunken rage.
This incident happened on Monday (19th Oct) at around 9pm at a UOB ATM located beside a Chinese medicine shop at Block 128 Toa Payoh Lorong 1.
A video of the incident taken by a passerby has been uploaded on Facebook. In the video, a man in a blue T-shirt and shorts could be seen thrashing the ATM with a dustbin.
Also seen in the video is a man in a green T-shirt, 48-year-old Mr Cai, who tried repeatedly to dissuade the man from thrashing the ATM.
Speaking to reporters, Mr Cai who works at the nearby coffee shop said that he does not know the man. He added that someone must have made a police report, as the police arrived shortly after and arrested the man.
