Woman Impersonating China Police Officer Meets Victim in Person, Scams Victim of Over $500,000

While phone and SMS scams are becoming increasingly common in Singapore, this scam takes things up to a new level by sending someone to impersonate a China police officer to meet the victim in person.

This incident happened just last Friday (23rd Oct) at Block 409 Bedok North Street 2.

According to photos provided by the police, a woman dressed in office attire impersonating as a female China police officer arranged to meet with the victim at a shelter nearby.

During the meeting, the woman’s accomplice impersonating a China police officer called the victim, and asked for the money to be handed over to the “female China police officer”.

After handing over the money, the victim felt that something was amiss and decided to make a police report.

The police have since arrested the woman impersonating the China police officer.

Investigations are currently ongoing.
