Homeless Man Lived Outside Beauty Salon for Six Days, Concerned Salon Owner Contacted Authorities to Help Him

Mdm Wei (43-years-old) owner of a beauty salon located at Block 505 Bishan Street 11, said a man who looked to be in his 50s had been sleeping on the chairs she placed outside her beauty salon for nearly a week.

She added that the man who looked well dressed, also had a luggage case with him, and was eating from a biscuit tin and drinking from a paper cup.

Mdm Wei said that she contacted the authorities to help the homeless man, but later noticed that the man had already left and was nowhere to be seen.

According to a spokesman from the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), they later located the homeless man on the same night. The spokesman added that the homeless man was referred to the Social Service Office located at Toa Payoh, and is currently receiving assistance.

Individuals or families in need of assistance are encouraged to contact the MSF or seek help at the nearest Social Service Office.
