64-Year-Old Man Breaks into Home of 81-year-old, and Robs him of Jewellery and Cash

A 64-year-old man is suspected of breaking into a HDB rental unit in the wee hours of the morning, and robbing a 81-year-old man of his jewelry and injuring him in the process.

This incident happened yesterday (6th May) at around 4.35am, in a HDB unit located at Block 8 French road.

The 81-year-old occupant of the rental unit was awoken by the noise caused by the 64-year-old when he broke into his home. The 81-year-old man put up a fight, but was eventually overpowered by the younger man, and sustained head injuries.

The 64-year-old man took the 81-year-old’s gold necklace, and around $1700 in cash, before fleeing from the scene.

The police were able to arrest the 64-year-old suspect shortly after the 81-year-old victim made a police report.

Police investigations are on going.
