A daring rescue happened last Friday in Jurong, where a 74-year-old grandmother was saved from falling off the kitchen ledge of her 7 floor HDB unit.
This incident happened at Block 113 Tao Ching Road located in the Jurong West area.
According to eye witnesses, the grandmother could be seen standing outside the ledge of her kitchen, while two SCDF officers were inside the HDB unit holding onto her, preventing her from falling off the ledge.
It wasn’t long before a DART (Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team) officer rappelled from the unit above, and secured the grandmother’s safety, before the two SCDF officers helped brought her inside the HDB flat.
According to the police, the 74-year-old grandmother has been arrested under the mental health act, and was sent conscious to the hospital for treatment.
