ICA Officer Allegedly Asks Man If His Chinese National Wife Was a Social Escort He Paid to Have Fun With Him

On 17th Oct, Eyden Lee and his Chinese National wife were at counter 17 of the Woodlands checkpoint, after returning from a short getaway in Malaysia, when they were stopped by a ICA officer for random checks.

Sharing his experience on Facebook, Eyden said that the ICA officer SGT Wong Weng You, had asked him if he had gone to their office before. To which Eyden replied “no”. The ICA officer then proceeded to ask Eyden, if the person seated next to him (Eyden’s wife) was someone he paid to have a fun time with.

Eyden was shocked by this question, and immediately questioned SGT Wong about what he meant exactly. Unfazed, SGT Wong, repeated his question to Eyden, but this time with much clearer words “is she a social escort that you had paid to have fun with and to do something in and out of Malaysia?”.

After Eyden confronted SGT Wong about his highly inappropriate question, Eyden was told by the ICA officer that it was a standard line of question they use for profiling.

This was when Eyden was escorted into the ICA office, while his car was searched. All this time, Eyden’s wife was crying in disbelief after being utterly humiliated by the ICA officer’s questioning.
