Ex-Reform Party Politician Low Chiak Huan Pledge To Contest Future Bukit Batok SMC Elections; Promises To Set Up $1 Million Foundation For Residents

On 5th February 2018, ex-Reform Party candidate Mr Low Chiak Huan announced on Facebook his intentions to run in Bukit Batok SMC during the next elections. In addition to announcing his candidacy, Mr Low promised to set up a $1 million foundation with his own money to provide subsidized child care and free legal clinics to help needy residents of Bukit Batok SMC.

Low promised to announce his 5 year plan for Bukit Batok residents soon and called for volunteers to make his candidacy a reality. Low went further and challenged Opposition SDP leader Dr Chee Soon Juan to stay in Bukit Batok SMC and not run away to contest another constituency in the next election. Low dared Dr Chee to not run away and stay and fight for Bukit Batok residents like he promised.

Is Mr Low throwing down the gauntlet to Dr Chee of the SDP? Will this result in a three cornered fight during the next General Elections?

Mr Low’s status update is republished below.
