A group of five close friends decided to spread the festive joy and warmth to around 20 homeless people sleeping in the streets of Singapore by giving them Christmas presents. The Christmas presents include essential items such as, sleeping bags, rain coats, dry foodstuff, and other daily necessities.

The group of friends consisting of Mr Goh Jia He, a 58-year old volunteer who works as a business consultant, and his four good friends went round the streets of Lavender on Saturday (21st Dec) at around 11pm and gave out Christmas presents to around 20 homeless people who were in the vicinity.

According to Mr Goh, they have been preparing Christmas presents for them for the past three years. He revealed that the total cost of the presents this year came up to be over $200, which was paid out of their own pockets.

Mr Goh added that these homeless people have no one to depend on and feel no love. He and his good friends hope that they will be able to at least let these homeless people feel loved and cared for during the festive season.

Apart from giving out Christmas presents, Mr Goh and friends also help care for the homeless on a long-term basis. Every month, they will also purchase daily necessities to distribute to them.

Nevermind that Mr Goh and friends only finished giving out presents at 1am, as he hopes that he can continue to bring joy to the homeless on every occasion possible.
