The historic Trump-Kim summit is set to take place on 12 June in Singapore. The agenda, in a nutshell is this: Trump wants Kim to denuclearise while Kim wants US recognition of his regime.
It surprised the world when the two men decided to meet, as they have a somewhat stormy relationship characterised by outbursts, name-calling and petty tiffs.
Trump called off the meeting at one point, but it was back on again a few days later after Kim’s top aide delivered a giant envelope to Trump. Some people believe Kim deliberately sent Trump a huge envelope to ridicule the latter’s small hands.
Apart from the giant envelope, here’s the other things that were exchanged between the two and their aides in the last year:
”North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States. They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen.” – Trump (Aug 2017)
”Sound dialogue is not possible with such a guy bereft of reason and only absolute force can work on him.” – General Kim Rak-gyom (Aug 2017)

”A frightened dog barks louder…I will surely and definitely tame the mentally deranged US dotard with fire.” – Kim (Sep 2017)
”Kim Jong-un of North Korea, who is obviously a madman who doesn’t mind starving or killing his people, will be tested like never before.” – Trump (Sep 2017)
”Reckless remarks by an old lunatic like Trump will never scare us or stop our advance.” – North Korean foreign ministry (Nov 2017)
So what Trump and Kim are really saying to each other is this- ”my NUKE is bigger than yours! got balls lai lah!” Given that they do not get along, how the meeting will turn out remains to be seen.
