Progress Singapore Party Cancelled Event At Last Minute So People Can Avoid Haze

The Progress Singapore Party (PSP) was supposed to have a community event yesterday morning but cancelled it because of the haze.

It was a pity as the cancellation came at a late notice and some had already showed up at the venue. A few people grumbled about the wasted trip but some of the volunteers ended up having breakfast and doing some stretching on the field.

Dr Tan Cheng Bock took to Facebook to assure that it was better to postpone it due to health concerns.

As a doctor, I have seen many such respiratory, nasal, eye and skin problems during the last haze. Please do take care and wear a mask if you are going outdoors during this period. Otherwise, do stay indoors and be safe.

It may have been very last minute but it was a good idea to avoid the haze considering that a few of its CEC members are more than 60 years old. As senior citizens, they should stay home and not expose themselves to health risks like the haze. Only when they are in the best of health can they truly fight for Singaporeans. If not, who can we trust?
