After Wife Lures Clients to Strip Naked, Husband Rushes in with Knife, Robs and Takes Their Photos
A man said he had no money after being released from prison, and was convinced by his wife to set up an elaborate trap to get money from victims.
On 4th May 2018, his wife befriended the 42-year victim on Facebook and offered to “sell her body”. She was undeterred even after the victim said he only had $25. She then asked the victim to come to her Boon Lay flat on the same day.
Before the victim arrived at around 1am, the wife asked her husband to hide in the kitchen toilet with a knife. After the wife got the victim to strip naked and wait for her on the bed, she sent a text message alerting her husband. The husband immediately rushed into the room with a knife, and pretended to have caught his wife having an affair.
The husband took photos of the victim, and demanded $400. He threatened to report the victim to the police for raping his wife if he did not give him the money. As the victim only had $70 with him, the husband made him sign a IOU for the remaining sum, before releasing him.
The victim only discovered that the whole incident was a set up after he caught a glimpse of the husband giving his wife a thumbs up as he was leaving the flat.
The couple who set the trap, Shao (45-years old), and Siti (41-years old) got arrested shortly after the incident, and were charged in court.
Shao faces a total of 5 charges. The prosecution proceeded with one count of robbery by night, and two counts of theft offences, with the rest to be taken into consideration by the court during sentencing.
Shao pleaded guilty on 20th Jan this year, and was sentenced to 3 years and 10 months jail and 12 strokes of the cane. As Shao committed the offences while he was released on parole, the judge ordered that he serve an additional 115 days of jail.
Siti faces 9 charges, but has yet to plead guilty. Her case is currently in the pre-trial stage.
