A man who was stopped from buying alcohol at a supermarket after 10.30pm, decided to forcefully take the alcohol, resulting in injuries, and a long trail of blood.

This incident happened today (8th Nov) at around 6am, at a supermarket located at Block 111 Bedok North Road.

Reporters arriving at the scene saw a long trail of blood leading from the void deck all the way to the lift door, where bloodied palm marks were also seen on the lift door and lift buttons.

According to a resident who wished to remain anonymous, a man was seen trying to buy alcohol after the prohibited timing (no sale of alcohol is permitted from 10.30pm to 7am under the Liquor Control Supply and Consumption Act), but was refused sale by the supermarket staff.

Undeterred, the man decided to make off with around 20 bottles of alcohol and some biscuits, and even challenged the supermarket staff to call the police.

The resident added that the man was later seen drinking alcohol at the void deck and shouting, and appeared to be talking to himself. Police officers arrived at the scene shortly and took him away.

The police have confirmed that a 38-year-old man was sent conscious to the hospital at around 630am today, and later arrested for theft. Police investigations are ongoing.
