Mother Uses Son As Water Shield at Sea Lion Show Performance at the Singapore Zoo

The Singapore Zoo is known for its many attractions and shows, from penguin tricks, to sea lion shows. Many of us would remember being splashed with water while seated at the front rows of the sea animal performance shows.

On Sunday, a TikToker who was presumably seated at a sea lion performance show at the Singapore Zoo, captured a rather interesting video as the show was ongoing. A mother and son were seated at the front row of the show, otherwise known as the “splash zone”.

When it became obvious that the sea lion was about to make a big splash, the mother instead of protecting her son from the water splashes, decided to use her son as a “water shield” instead to keep herself from getting wet.

The responses to the video were mixed, with some commenting that the boy was probably the world’s most expensive umbrella, which took 9 months to arrive, others said that the boy seem to be enjoying himself, despite getting splashed with water.

However, we think that it might be a better idea for the mother to bring an actual umbrella the next time they visit, as it would be far cheaper than footing the bill at the clinic when the boy gets sick.
