A condominium unit in The Eden located along Tampines Street 34 was undergoing renovations on Tuesday afternoon when it suddenly caught fire. It was suspected that the fire was caused by an electrical short when the onsite workers were carrying out renovation works.
According to 73-year-old Mr Chen who also lives in The Eden condominium, the affected unit was located at the ground floor next to a swimming pool. Several domestic helpers and painters conveniently used water from the pool to put out the fire.
All thanks to their quick response, the fire was soon extinguished. No one was injured during the incident.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
