With the implementation of the circuit breaker from 7th April, members of the public are no longer allowed to dine in at food establishments, and have to order take-away or home delivery to have their meals.

Many food establishments such as coffee shops, food courts, and hawker centres have resorted to wrapping their seats with plastic and red tape to prevent patrons from sitting down in their premises.

However, one coffee shop came up with a more creative way of deterring its patrons from sitting down. The staff at a coffee shop located at Block 350 Ubi Ave 1, taped empty drink cans to their seats to stop people from sitting down.

According to one of the coffee shop’s stall holder Mdm Yu (43-years-old), taping the empty cans to the seats seem to be effective as she has not seen a single customer sitting down at the coffee shop since this new method was used.
