A sheltered walkway leading to a bus stop located at Block 661A Edgedale Plains became a subject of controversy, as many netters were puzzled by the shelter’s design.

A Tiktok video describing the walkway and the bus stop’s weird design which does not serve the purpose of sheltering commuters to the bus stop have since been shared on Facebook.

The video showed that commuters had to walk around the bus stop exposed to the rain, as there were railings blocking them from entering the bus stop from the sheltered walkway.

40-year old Mr Yue who was been staying in the area for a few years, said that this was a flawed design, as he still has to rely on his umbrella to get into the bus stop.

According to a 26-year old student who lives nearby, he had raise this matter to the town council in May last year, and was referred to the Housing Development Board (HDB).

In an email he received from HDB, it was mentioned that the HDB is working together with LTA and other relevant authorities to come up with a solution. It added that they are currently awaiting approval to extend the sheltered walkway to the bus stop.
