A couple who went kayaking and encountered the receding tide which capsized their kayak. They narrowly escaped being dragged out to deeper seas by the current by holding onto floating buoys.

According to a Facebook post made by “Singapore Marine Guide” (a marine leisure operator), last Wednesday (2th Dec) at around 5pm, a kayak had capsized off the coast of Sentosa Cove, throwing a man and a woman into the sea. The post added that the couple were later rescued in the nick of time by boats sailing nearby.

Wade Pearce the founder of “Singapore Marine Guide” said he heard a man in the sea shouting for help, and realised that the couple were in danger. He immediately notified two other marine leisure operators nearby to head out and rescue the couple.

Marine leisure operator“One15 Marina” managed to quickly arrange for a speedboat to rescue the woman, while the other operator “Sea-Doo.sg” went out to rescue the man in jet skis.

Both the man and woman who looked to be in their 30s were safely rescued and sustained no injuries.
