A customer who ordered a chicken rice set from Kim Kee Hainanese Chicken Rice through the Foodpanda delivery app ended up recieving only chicken rice and vegetables, but no chicken, as the stall had already sold out of roast chicken.
Complaining about the incident on Facebook, Kumar said that he ordered four portions of chicken rice, chicken meat, and vegetables. After placing the order, he was informed that the chicken meat was sold out, and was refunded the amount for the chicken.
However, the stall owner refused to refund the rest of the order consisting of rice and vegetables. Berating the stall owner, Kumar said:
“…U expect me to eat the rice without the chicken? U go Mcdonalds give u the bun without the meat and just vegetables u ok ah?”
A Food Panda spokesman said that a customer would normally be offered three choices when their ordered items are sold out, 1) Cancel the item which has sold out, 2) Cancel the whole order, or 3) Contact the stall owner to arrange for a different order.
