Old Hainanese Curry Rice Saga: Founder’s Family Car Found to have GPS Tracking Device After Dispute with Business Partner
A few days ago, “JunYuan Ace” shared on his Facebook, about how a CEO of a certain XXX group had unscrupulously cheated his family of the Old Hainanese Curry Rice brand name and trademarks, and later ousted his entire family out of a joint venture.
According to “JunYuan Ace”, the CEO of XXX Group approached him on April 2019 with a proposal of a joint-venture (JV), which will bring the family brand “Old Hainanese Curry Rice” into all major shopping malls. This was after the CEO convinced the family that they had to give up their original stall in order for them to fully commit to the JV.
During the entire JV, no appointment letter or formal documents were given to “JunYuan Ace” or his family. On December 2019, their first outlet was opened at Thomson Plaza, followed by the second outlet at Seletar Mall in October 2020.
However, this business cooperation came to an abrupt end in Feburary 2021, when the CEO of the XXX group terminated the employment of JunYuan’s entire family during the pandemic, leaving them jobless and without income. The staff of the two outlets also resigned out of loyalty, after refusing to give up the family’s secret recipe.
The family was able to recover part of the money owed by the CEO of XXX group, after he failed to provide a satisfactory explanation to the Judge in Court. However, the family is still currently fighting to recover the Old Hainan Curry Rice trademark and brand name.
Just two days ago (12th July), JunYuan shared that he had found an illegal GPS tracker on his family car. While he has no conclusive proof, he biggest suspect was likely the CEO of XXX group. Just a day later (13th July), JunYuan found another device hidden below his car. He has since made a police report.
The family of the Old Hainanese Curry Rice wishes to thank all their loyal customers who have been supporting them all these years and caring for their well-being. They hope to be able to serve authentic Hainanese curry rice to them once again.
