Wife of Food Delivery Rider Killed in Kovan Accident: “I Will Never Forgive the Driver who killed my Husband”

On Tuesday (23rd Mar) 42-year-old Simon Teo, a food delivery rider died of extensive injuries in the hospital, after he was hit by a 34-year-old man driving a Mini Cooper at a traffic junction between Tampines Road and Hougang Ave 1.

Speaking to reporters, the widowed Mrs Teo said that her husband was already unresponsive when she arrived at the accident scene. Mrs Teo said that her husband was later sent to the hospital, where he passed away from extensive injuries that same night.

According to Mrs Teo, her husband has been working as a food delivery rider for around 5 years to support the family, and raise their 8-year-old daughter.

Mrs Teo added, she was very angry when she saw the driver in a drunken state, and said she will never forget his face, and will never forgive him, and does not want to see him at her husband’s funeral.

Mr Huang a 43-year old food delivery rider, who had known Simon, says that he and other food delivery riders were very sad about Simon’s death. He says that he and the other food delivery riders are currently raising funds to help Simon’s family get by during this difficult time.
