A FB user going by the name of “Jenny NG” shared her family’s recent shocking staycation experience on the Complaint Singapore Facebook group.

Jenny booked a Garden Room from Lloyd’s Inn, which describes itself as boutique styled hotel that offers travellers a tranquil immersive experience in an oasis of nature.

The hotel goes on to say that each of the rooms at Lloyd’s Inn is unique, and captures a relationship with nature in different ways.

However, this was not the case with Jenny and her family, as they pretty much ended up with a spartan room containing a balcony that stood one skinny dying tree. One must wonder what the nature theme was in this room.

To make matters worse, the extra beds that Jenny requested came with rather uncomfortable rough blankets, the kind you would normally find in budget hotels.

After Jenny’s repeated requests to change the blankets, the hotel’s housekeeping finally turned up to add a layer of quilt. But to the family’s horror, the housekeeping staff commented that the rough blanket was the same one used in hospitals and that there was nothing wrong with it.

To add further insult to injury, the luxurious garden room’s sound proofing were so bad, that the family was kept up all night to all manner of disturbing noises from other rooms.

While the hotel apologised for their staff’s inappropriate comment that the guest blankets were of “hospital standard”, the hotel’s response to the poor sound proofing, was that the rooms were based on a half open concept, and hence why the sound will travel.

At $400 per night, the family might actually be better off staying home and watching Netflix.
