Singaporean Man Posts 38-year-old Toyota for Sale at $488,888, Gains Instant Fame Overnight
Singapore is notorious for being the most expensive place on earth to own a car. With COE for CAT A exceeding $60,000, and CAT B at $86,000, a brand new bread and butter Japanese sedan would cost over $120,000.
Despite this, one car owner decided to post his car up for sale at a rather eye-watering $488,888. Before you say that it must be one very special car, the car advertised for sale is actually a 38-year-old Toyota Corolla with over half a million kilometers clocked.
After the advertisement was posted, the owner of the legendary half a million dollar corolla, Issac Teh instantly gained overnight fame, with many questioning the sanity of the owner.
Responding to people who asked if he was indeed serious about selling his car at the asking price, the owner replied that he was merely posting the car advert for fun, and that it was a car he would not part with, hence why he listed it for sale at such an astronomical price.
Apart from the 38-year-old Toyota, Issac also apparently owns a red hot Ferrari which he purchased two years ago.
