A $18 dish of top shell, ending up costing $38, while a $28 plate of Sichuan dish became a $48 dish. This was what a group of women experienced when they decided to have dinner at a bar restaurant in Chinatown, which ended up overcharging them $110.

Speaking to reporters, 40-year-old Madam Chu who had dinner at the Wang Zhi Music Bar in Chinatown Point with three of her good friends last Sunday (15th May) experienced this unpleasant situation.

After paying the bill of $616, Madam Chu and her friends realised that it was a little too expensive, and decided to double check their bill. As it turns out, Madam Chu was overcharged for several items, including charged $48 for a $28 dish, and $88 for a $68 bottle of red wine.

The restaurant owner who responded to reporters, claimed that his staff were too busy that day, and did not verify the charges being billing Madam Chu.

According to Madam Chu, she has contacted the restaurant owner, who has promised to refund them the excess charges, but has yet to get any response to date.
