87-year-old Man in Tampines Charged Over $4000 for a Facial Session, Salon Staff Claims He Also Asked for “Special Service”
Last Thursday (17th Sep), 87-year-old Mr Yip who went for a facial treatment session at a beauty salon in Tampines, was shocked after he received the bill of $4445.
The owner of the beauty salon, 40-year-old Mdm Wong, told reporters that Mr Yip was informed of the charges of $20 to remove each oil blister before the treatment started, and that this was captured by the shop’s CCTV. The beautician had reportedly removed 220 oil blisters from Mr Yip’s face, resulting in the astronomical bill.
Mr Yip’s son who later found out about the outrageous charges for the facial treatment, went down to the beauty salon and demanded for a refund, but ended up getting into an argument with the staff, which involved the police.
In addition, the beauty salon’s staff also claimed that Mr Yip had requested for “special services” in the middle of his facial treatment, an accusation that Mr Yip strongly refuted.
In response, Mr Yip’s 30-year-old grandson who spoke to reporters, said that his grandfather is already 87-years-old, and that it is very hard to believe that he would have requested for such things (special services).
