Prime Mover Driver Crushed After Trying to Stop Vehicle From Rolling Off Ramp at Industrial Estate

A prime mover truck driver had stopped his vehicle at an industrial estate to take delivery of a container, when the truck suddenly lunged forward. The driver who tried to get back into the seat of the prime mover, was crushed to death.

This incident happened today at around 8am, at Yishun Industrial Street 1. Reporters arriving at the scene saw several police officers taking statements, as well as the deceased’s body covered with a white towel.

According to the deceased’s co-workers, he was believed to have forgotten to pull the handbrake, which resulted in the prime mover lunging forward off the ramp.

The deceased is believed to be an Indian national named Jothi.
