This morning (23rd Jun), Facebook group Singapore Domestic Workers Support Group posted a message from a domestic helper detailing her plight of getting infected with COVID-19 from her employer.

According to the domestic helper, she got infected with COVID-19 while looking after her employer when he was sick. She said that her employer had changed their family helper without informing her after she was admitted to Tan Tock Seng hospital on 28th March for treatment (Case No: 780).

After she was discharged from hospital, she found that her employer had thrown all her things outside the house, while a few of her belongings were also missing.

When she asked the employer if she could look for her missing belongings in the house, the employer got angry and threatened to terminate her work permit.

The domestic helper is feeling very helpless as she doesn’t know who to turn to for help, and is afraid that her employer will terminate her work permit while she was still waiting for her transfer.

As of this morning, Amex Chew (Admin/Moderator of the FB group) has given the domestic helper MOM’s number for her to call.
